Partnership with St Bede’s

St Bede鈥檚 College is a Catholic boys secondary school founded within the Lasallian tradition. It is located in Bayside Mentone, approximately 10 minutes walk from our College.

Curriculum

Our education partnership with St Bede鈥檚 College in Mentone, provides co-educational learning opportunities for our Year 11 and 12 students. Both schools provide the opportunity for their VCE students to study subjects that are not offered at their own school (subject to availability) at either 澳门六合彩开奖记录资料 or St Bede’s. This partnership allows students to access a wider range of subjects in the senior years.

Cocurricular

In 2020, 澳门六合彩开奖记录资料 and St Bede鈥檚 introduced a combined annual Indigenous Immersion program where students learn about the history and traditions of the Bunurong people on the Mornington Peninsula. The immersive three-day experience exposes the students to various facets of Indigenous culture, including art, history, music, food, bush medicine and archaeological exploration of the local region.

In 2022, 鈥楾he Short Story Society鈥 was initiated by staff from both Colleges for students to meet and share their love of literature. The aim of the society is to give members a chance to read a fantastic selection of short stories and talk about literature with like-minded people. It provides students the opportunity to nurture an interest in VCE Literature, explore their analytical voice and it enables them to hear a wider range of perspectives than they do in their current female/male educational environments.

There are also a number of cocurricular opportunities for students to work together across the Performing Arts. Each year both Colleges host a Junior and Senior production, whereby all students are invited to audition. This year’s production of ‘Legally Blonde’ at 澳门六合彩开奖记录资料 involved nearly 150 students from both schools in all facets of theatre production.

Both Colleges also come together for some fun netball matches, with the Year 12 Student Leaders from 澳门六合彩开奖记录资料 taking on the ‘Beda Boys, amongst other opportunities that allow for social interaction between the students.
